Hapag-Lloyd announced that from January 1, 2024, Lars Sorensen will become senior managing director region Middle East. He will be based in Dubai.

The German international shipping and container transportation company said Sorensen will be succeeding Dheeraj Bhatia, who will become a new member of the Hapag-Lloyd Executive Board and CEO of the new Rotterdam-based Hapag-Lloyd Terminal Holding on the same date.

"Sorensen joined Hapag-Lloyd five years ago and successfully led Area India as Managing Director, where he has proven his dedication, passion, and exceptional managerial skills, making him a natural fit for his new endeavour," the announcement said.
