LARS JORDAHN NAMED GLOBAL HEAD OF MAERSK AIR CARGO
February 27, 2024

Maersk has reportedly appointed Lars Jordahn, chief executive officer of West Atlantic, as global head of Maersk Air Cargo, effective March 1.

Various reports said Jordanh will take over the position from Peter Corfitsen, who will move to a different role within the company.

Jordanh — who will be based in Copenhagen — brings more than 30 years of experience in various aviation and logistics roles.

He was most recently the CEO of West Atlantic, a holding company for two European cargo airlines, West Air Sweden and West Atlantic UK, for five years.

The new Maersk Air Cargo chief was also the former managing director of global airlines for  Liege-based TNT Airways and was affiliated with DHL Express and DHL Aviation for almost two decades.

Maersk Air Cargo has been bolstering its growing freighter network between Mainland China, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the US by introducing additional aircraft and increasing the frequencies of regular flights.

Maersk has introduced several initiatives to bolster its air freight services. The company also opened a new Chicago air freight gateway facility to add more supply chain integration opportunities for customers using Chicago O’Hare International and Rockford International.

Maersk also launched an inaugural flight of the logistics company's new air freight service with weekly scheduled flights between Denmark and China operated by Maersk Air Cargo.

Prior to that, Maersk also launched a new air freight service with regular flights between South Carolina, Korea and China operated by Miami-headquartered cargo airline Amerijet International.
