Oman Air and Menzies Aviation have signed a memorandum of understanding, with the goal of forming a joint venture to provide ground-handling services at all Omani airports.

“We’re very excited by the opportunity to work with Oman Air,” said Forsyth Black, president and managing director of Menzies Aviation. “There is a great tradition of co-operation between British and Omani partners; we hope to add this new joint venture to that list.”

According to Oman Air, it is in the process of reconfiguring its handling businesses.

“Menzies Aviation is a highly professional, global company with a proven track record,” said Paul Gregorowitsch, CEO of Oman Air. “Our partnership will enable us to access new technology, improve training and achieve the highest standards with regard to ground-handling operations.”

The two companies will enter a period of due diligence to satisfy all regulatory requirements so that the joint venture can be established during the last quarter of 2016, according to Oman Air.
