DB SCHENKER SETS UP MYANMAR SUBSIDIARY

DB Schenker has established Schenker Myanmar, a new fully owned subsidiary managing contract logistics business operations for the country’s telecommunications and consumer goods industries.

 

“Myanmar has seen a significant increase in investments and activities in infrastructure, manufacturing and distribution since the lifting of sanctions in 2012,” said Nay Htoo Aung, general manager of Schenker Myanmar Company Limited. “We can enable the development and growth of the Myanmar market by bringing our expertise and technology in warehouse design & management, as well as employ and train the Myanmar talent pool with warehouse and supply chain management skills, to serve our customers’ needs.”

 

Schenker Myanmar’s team of 80 employees will be in charge of contract logistics and warehousing, while the Yangon branch of Schenker Thailand will continue to handle freight, customs clearance and transport operations, according to DB Schenker.
