Logistics provider Dachser has expanded its Dalian branch to make space for its growing team and has begun rolling out its transport management system in northern China.

“Being in Dalian gives us a major geographical advantage because it means we have direct access to the northeast non-freezing port, we are conveniently located near the national high-speed railway, as well as being right on the One Belt One Road link from North China to Europe and Russia,” said Yves Larquemin, managing director of air and sea logistics in North China at Dachser. “We can’t neglect this important area.”

Additionally, the roll-out of Othello, Dachser’s global air and sea transport management system has begun in the Beijing, Tianjin and Wuhan offices, and is expected to be fully operational across all North China branches by the end of the year.

“As our business in North China grows, our harmonized processes enhance cooperation between the worldwide teams using the same systems and operating based upon the same standards,” said Larquemin. “This certainly increases efficiency and transparency.”

Othello was developed by Dachser and links air and sea freight shipments seamlessly with overland and warehousing activities across all continents. It has already been implemented across the company’s branches in South China.
