Seaspan Corporation has taken delivery of the 10,000 TEU CMA CGM Mundra.

According to Seaspan, the vessel will commence a fixed-rate time charter with CMA CGM for a term of three years, with an option to extend for an additional three years.

The new container ship was constructed by Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. It is the first in a series of four 10,000 TEU vessels under time charter to CMA CGM that are scheduled to be delivered in the first half of 2018.

Seaspan’s operating fleet includes three new container ships on order that are due to be delivered by mid-2018 and 109 vessels, representing a total capacity of over 900,000 TEUs.
