LATAM Cargo has opened an offline hub in Copenhagen to address growing demand for cargo from Europe to Latin America.
According to LATAM, the decision was based on particularly strong demand in Latin America for pharma products such as medicines and vaccines from Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
Copenhagen is the carrier’s second offline hub, and will feed the Amsterdam-Viracopos-Santiago, Brussels-Montevideo, Amsterdam-Brasilia and Frankfurt-Guarulhos routes.
The offline hub will offer regular GDP-compliant refrigerated truck services for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical shipments.
LATAM Cargo became the first carrier in the Americas to obtain the International Air Transport Association’s Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics certification in May 2017.
