Orient Overseas Container Line carried a total of 6,696,919 TEUs in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%, according to figures released by Orient Overseas (International) Limited.
Total revenue for the year grew by 9.9% to approximately US$5.96 billion.
In the fourth quarter of 2018, volumes increased by 6.4% to 1,715,609 TEUs.
The total capacity for the year was 7.4% higher than in 2017, while the overall load factor decreased by 0.8%. The average revenue per TEU grew by 3.4% year-on-year.
OOCL experienced the highest growth on the Asia-Europe lane, having carried 14.5% more TEUs than in 2017. Trans-Pacific volumes also grew by 8.9%.
