DELTA CARGO CONTINUES DIGITAL ENHANCEMENTS TO CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

Delta Cargo will continue its digital enhancements to the customer experience this year with additional functionality such as real-time tracking and visibility of Bluetooth-equipped ULDs and live text alerts for booking changes and tracking notifications.

According to Delta, a dangerous goods section will also be added to the website so that customers can have their shipments checked at the piece level against aircraft limits, station capabilities and Delta policies during the booking process.

Since the relaunch of Delta Cargo’s new website in November 2017, there has been a significant shift from traditional booking channels to digital platforms. Delta Cargo has seen a 15-percentage-point increase in global online bookings compared to 2017 and the website is now the carrier’s top global booking channel compared to other methods.

“Our customers have welcomed the improved functionality of the website with the online booking volumes and registered user site visits reflecting that,” said Lindsey Jalil, managing director of commercial at Delta Cargo.  “We are focused on continuing to invest in technology and innovating the shipping process, making it easier to do business with Delta.”

The new website’s improved customer experience and functionality allows for shipments to be booked, managed, tracked or checked-in from any device. There has also been a substantial increase in the use of e-AWBs, shipment track-and-trace visits and online portal registrations, according to Delta.
