Lufthansa Cargo will expand its capacity offering by approximately 10% for its summer schedule coming into effect on March 31, 2019.
According to the carrier, the new schedule incorporates the two new Boeing 777Fs recently delivered to Lufthansa Cargo and Aerologic.
In Asia, Lufthansa Cargo will add an MD-11F flight on Wednesdays and Fridays between Frankfurt and Tokyo Narita via Novosibirsk, offering an additional 170 tonnes of cargo capacity.
Osaka will receive a third weekly frequency with an MD-11F. The flight will make a stop in Seoul on the eastbound leg from Frankfurt, taking Lufthansa Cargo’s total number of South Korean frequencies to nine a week.
Hong Kong will be served daily with an MD-11F instead of six times a week.
Lufthansa Cargo will offer seven weekly flights to Mumbai, while an Aerologic 777F will fly from Frankfurt to Chennai and Ho Chi Minh City twice a week.
In North America, Atlanta will receive an additional seventh flight every week and Chicago will be served 12 times a week instead of eight.
In Central and South America, Lufthansa Cargo will deploy the 777F on the new direct flights to Mexico City and on the rotations from Frankfurt to Buenos Aires via Viracopos and Montevideo, from Frankfurt to Viracopos via Curitiba, as well as on the non-stop flight from Frankfurt to Viracopos, with a stop in Dakar on the return leg.
Lufthansa Cargo took delivery of its sixth 777F in February 2019, while Aerologic’s 11th 777F arrived in late January.
Both carriers are each due to receive an additional 777F later this year.
