Aero Africa – the Hong Kong-based neutral air cargo solutions group, has recently launched its digital airfreight rate platform to cater to the needs of the African freight & logistics sector.
The new airfreight gateway and consolidation portal will be available exclusively to freight forwarders and transport-related companies, providing instant air freight wholesale rates, consolidation schedules, it said, with bookings from major global hubs to 84 airports in Africa starting in Southern Africa by June 2021.
"Combining our extensive experience and expertise in air freight, with our new technological capabilities, will open up new and innovative ways for African logistics providers to conduct airfreight business, which will transform traditional notions of efficiency and routes to market," said CCO Jade Da Costa.
He noted that this is the first of many initiatives that they are planning to release this year, which will bring enhanced value to the African logistics community as a whole.
"Aero Africa operates neutral scheduled air freight consolidations services from Asia and Europe to selected gateways in Africa. The new portal will enable us to digitize effectively the air cargo logistics B2B community and provide full visibility and transparency to our client’s airfreight import business," Da Costa added.
He went on to say that the new digital portal has been built tailored to the needs of the African logistics market, taking into consideration every small detail of the air freight procurement and consolidation management model at each gateway and African destination.
Appointment of Director Airfreight Asia
Meanwhile, Aero Africa Asia team also recently welcomed Joey Xu, in the newly-created position of Director Airfreight Asia.
In a statement, Aero Africa said Xu will be responsible for the overall airfreight development of the group in Asia with a focus on procurement with carriers and optimizing our neutral scheduled airfreight consolidations from Asia to Africa.
She will also assist our business development team to promote our African solutions to the Asean freight forwarding and aviation community.
Before joining Aero Africa, Xu worked as regional air freight manager & head of air freight for M&M, On-Time Express, and Shipco Transport.
