The Transport & Logistics Bureau announced that the governments of Guangdong and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region agreed to adjust the cross-boundary goods vehicle (CBGV) transport arrangement between both cities.

The move aims to facilitate the import and export of goods as well as the cross-boundary logistics in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area so as to benefit the socio-economic development of the two sides.

"Starting tomorrow, the CBGV transport arrangement will be adjusted to a point-to-point mode, under which drivers are allowed to pick up or deliver goods directly from or to the operation points," the statement on December 11 said.

It added that no quota will be imposed for such an arrangement and relevant drivers are only required to make prior appointments and declarations through the KuaJingAn system.

The Transport Department will also continue to conduct COVID-19 rapid nucleic acid tests for CBGV drivers at the Hong Kong side of the boundary control points.

Only those who obtain a negative test result and hold valid proof of a negative nucleic acid test result within 48 hours as shown in the Yuekang Code can enter the Mainland.

The department has already informed the CBGV trade of the details, it added.
