The Worldwide Information Network has launched a mobile application for its forwarder customers.
According to WIN, features of the new app include real-time tracking capabilities, an interactive agent directory, instant messaging, route checking and shipment status tools such as proof of delivery and photos of damaged cargo.
“Forwarders already using WIN to work electronically with partners and carriers now can now multiply the value of the information exchanged in WIN, and securely provide shipment visibility to their own customers,” said John DeBenedette, managing director of WIN. “WIN is all about giving independent freight forwarders an edge. Now we have extended this to the mobile frontier.”
A version of WIN Mobile for individual forwarders to distribute to their end-customers is also available, according to WIN.
