“Thanks to the new cooperation, we will be able to transport German Red Cross aid supplies even faster to disaster zones,” said Peter Gerber, CEO and chairman of the executive board at Lufthansa Cargo [right in photo]. “When every minute counts, strong partners who can work together optimally are needed. We are delighted when we can use our logistics expertise to help get direct assistance to people in need.”

Lufthansa already has years of experience helping air organizations fly relief supplies into disaster zones. The cooperation agreement will simplify and accelerate the preparation of aid flights by the carrier.

“As Germany’s largest humanitarian aid organisation, we operate in more than 50 countries,” said Christian Reuter, secretary general of the German Red Cross [left in photo]. “We are really delighted to have Lufthansa Cargo on board, a partner we can rely on in a disaster.”
