DHL’s freight forwarding arm has appointed Stephen Ly as the managing director of its Singapore office.

“Asia Pacific is a key region for DHL Global Forwarding and we see tremendous opportunities across air, ocean and road freight rising from the rapid growth in intra-Asia trade. It is important for us to firmly establish our geographic footprint in Asia Pacific by building a strong leadership team in each country that we operate in,” said Kelvin Leung, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific. “We are very excited to have Stephen lead our Singapore operations as he brings a wealth of experience, proven track record and in-depth industrial knowledge, as well as a focus on driving success for our business.”

Ly was previously the managing director for DHL Global Forwarding Philippines. He was also the head of Customs Brokerage Services for Asia Pacific and Africa for about three and a half years, according to a statement from DHL.

Ly will drive and manage DHL Global Forwarding’s growth in international freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing and logistics value-added services in Singapore, said DHL.
