Lufthansa Cargo has launched two application programming interfaces called “GetCapacity” and “GetRates” for its customers.
According to the carrier, the two new APIs provide direct access to capacity and rate data. Companies can use the data quickly and easily in their own systems and further process it without having to upload it manually, speeding up the process and minimizing errors. Real-time data exchange on capacity also makes information on flight utilization available outside of office hours.
“We are continually expanding the digital standardized interfaces for our customers in order to further simplify system-to-system communication,” said Boris Hueske, head of digital transformation at Lufthansa Cargo. “The increasing number of users proves how widespread market acceptance is. For Lufthansa Cargo, this is another step on the way to becoming a more digital enterprise.”
“GetCapacity” and “GetRates” add to Lufthansa’s existing “Tracking” and “GetRoutes” interfaces, but the new APIs transmit data that are more sensitive and are therefore only made available to interested parties upon request.
Additional intelligent web services for booking are already being planned in order to redefine new digital standards for the air freight industry, according to Lufthansa Cargo.
