Western Global Airlines has appointed Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited to handle its scheduled service in Hong Kong.
The new twice-weekly Boeing 747-400F service between Hong Kong and Los Angeles is operated in partnership with forwarder and logistics platform Flexport.
“Working with Hong Kong’s leading freighter handler, Hactl, will help ensure that we can provide our customer Flexport with optimum service levels based on highly efficient ground operations,” said Jim Neff, founder and CEO of Western Global.
Hactl now provides ramp-handling, terminal-handling and all documentation for the flight.
“We welcome Western Global and its partner Flexport to our growing carrier family, and look forward to supporting both with our unrivalled freighter-handling expertise, state-of-the-art systems and impressive resources,” said Vivien Lau, executive director of Hactl.
The airline plans to add an additional frequency from September 2018.
“This new partnership allows Flexport to offer predicable, affordable and a custom-tailored service to our customers with guaranteed capacity through seamless, dedicated scheduled service in the important Hong Kong-to-US markets,” said Neel Jones Shah, SVP and global head of air freight at Flexport.
Western Global is based in Florida and operates an owned fleet of 747-400F and MD-11F aircraft worldwide for airlines, express companies, logistics providers, humanitarian and relief organizations and the US Department of Defense.
