Bolloré Logistics has obtained the Facility Security Requirements Level A certification from the Transported Asset Protection Association for its Milan-Pantigliate logistics site in Italy.
According to Bolloré, the certified facility is an important and competitive asset to meet the expectations of customers in sensitive sectors such as fashion, luxury and healthcare.
“Improvements have been made both in terms of equipment and safety and training processes for teams to ensure the maximum security of the goods of our high-end fashion customers, although they benefit also other stored goods,” said Luigi Brunetti, managing director of Bolloré Logistics Italy. “They are essential to meet the current requirements of customers, and prepare us to increase volumes in our warehouse by 15 to 20% this year.”
Fashion accounts for about a third of Bolloré Logistics Italy’s activities. At the Milan-Pantigliate facility, a dedicated and trained team supports the labelling and repackaging of articles by destination. The products are then transported on hangers, mostly destined for Asia. Computer systems integrated with customers’ IT systems provide monitoring of the entire process in real time from end to end.
Additional arrangements made to enhance the security of the site include the construction of a high-value cage inside the warehouse, a daily guard post at the entrance controlling access, identification badges with individualized and nominated access rights, and the strengthening of video surveillance and anti-intrusion devices.
The TAPA FSR Level A certification is a standard awarded to sites with the highest degree of security requirements in storage services. The requirements are designed to ensure the safe and secure in-transit storage and warehousing of assets, and have been established by security professionals within the high-tech industry to address the nature by which high-tech products and materials are handled, warehoused and transported as they move throughout the world, according to TAPA.
