RedCargo Logistics, the wholly owned cargo and logistics platform of AirAsia Group, has entered into a partnership with freight forwarder TASCO, effective January 1, 2019.
According to RedCargo, this is its first direct partnership with a freight forwarding customer. Under the strategic partnership, RedCargo will be able to offer TASCO bellyhold space across AirAsia’s network, which spans over 130 airports across 25 markets in Asia, Australia, the Middle East and the US.
“With more than 50% of our network capacity still available for partners to book, RedCargo is open for business,” said Pete Chareonwongsak, CEO of RedCargo Logistics. “We are confident that we will play an increasingly important role in facilitating trade and e-commerce fulfilment within Asean and across key trade lanes passing through Asia. We are grateful to the TASCO team for believing in our product and service quality, and we look forward to serving this partnership regionally wherever the TASCO and NYK Group are present.”
TASCO is a subsidiary of Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd., the logistics arm of the NYK Group. It provides total logistics services including air freight, ocean freight, contract logistics, trucking and cold supply chain.
“We are very excited about this new partnership with RedCargo, which is part of the largest airline in Malaysia by fleet size and destination,” said Freddie Lim, managing director of TASCO. “With this tie-up, we are confident that we will be able to provide a higher level of service and competency to our clients. We look forward to working closely with RedCargo to expand our businesses both in Malaysia and regionally.”
