AirBridgeCargo Airlines has added Bangladesh to its network in Asia with the introduction of twice-weekly frequencies to Dhaka.
According to ABC, Dhaka will be its 14th destination in Asia and will be operated in conjunction with the airline’s Shanghai flight, offering customers a range of international connections via its hub in Moscow.
“We have been reviewing the possibility of Bangladesh coverage for the last couple of years,” said Sergey Lazarev, general director of AirBridgeCargo. “The country’s emerging volumes tipped over 25% growth last year as the number of manufacturers based in this country increased. This fact makes us feel confident that our operations will be appreciated by customers, especially by those with garments and apparel commodities, which constitute the major part of traffic from Bangladesh.”
The majority of cargo from Bangladesh is destined for Europe and the US. ABC will offer different solutions for various types of freight, including those requiring special handling such as temperature-sensitive products, oversized and heavy shipments, live animals and e-commerce products.
“Our flights will also guarantee Boeing 747F capacity for import flows to support Bangladeshi industries,” Lazarev said. “On top of this, we will make sure that the quality of our service in Bangladesh is on a par with the rest of our global network.”
AirBridgeCargo added Ho Chi Minh City and Shenzhen in 2018, offering its abc e-com, abc valuable and abc general products to meet growing demand for hi-tech goods, e-commerce and garments.
