Jettainer has signed a five-year contract with WAMOS Air to take over the airline’s container management and maintenance.
The Spanish airline mainly operates leisure charter services with a fleet of seven Airbus A330-200s and five Boeing 747-400s.
“As an up-and-coming airline, WAMOS Air ideally complements our customer base,” said Carsten Henig, managing director of Jettainer. “At the same time, this expansion will help to further strengthen our global network. We look forward to launching another long-term partnership.”
WAMOS also operates services on behalf of sister company Pullmantur Cruises from Madrid-Barajas Airport. Additionally, WAMOS is taking over charter flights for LATAM, Avianca and other major carriers. During the summer, WAMOS Air operates charter flights for German airline Condor, which outsourced its ULD management to Jettainer in 2006.
“WAMOS Air is specialized on charter and ad-hoc flights, which requires utmost flexibility,” said Salvador Martínez Prados, director of ground operations and commercial routes at WAMOS Air. “For this purpose we are happy starting a partnership with Jettainer in ULD management. Their flexibility and airline experience gives us the utmost reliability we need in our business.”
