TIACA ELECTS OAS TO BOARD
April 16, 2019

The International Air Cargo Association has elected Khalfan Al Shueili, chief executive officer of Oman Aviation Services, to its board.

According to TIACA, air cargo volumes in Oman have almost doubled from 2013 to 2018.

“TIACA brings together all sectors of the cargo supply chain and the addition of OAS means we now have more airport and ground handling expertise as part of our board from this important growing region,” said Sebastiaan Scholte, chairman of TIACA and CEO of Jan de Rijk Logistics. “We look forward to working together as we look to develop the seminar programme for our Executive Summit.”

OAS signed a memorandum of understanding with TIACA in January to work together with the association to promote air cargo growth in the Middle East.

Al Shueili is based in Muscat and has headed up OAS for the last 15 months. He previously spent more than seven years leading readiness operations for Oman Airports Management Company during a period of expansion.

“This step will allow us to explore new horizons of regional and global partnership, as TIACA is considered to be a very comprehensive umbrella of international cargo companies,” he said. “This is in line with the outlook and vision for the future development of the air cargo sector in the Sultanate of Oman, which is flourishing in terms of new facilities and volume growth.”
