The first container vessel operating the Ocean Alliance’s new Loop 7 service has arrived at the Port of Hamburg.
The 14,424 Taurus, operated by Evergreen Line, was the first to berth at the port as part of the new Loop 7 service, which connects Hamburg, Antwerp and Rotterdam with Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Shekou, Colombo and Port Klang.
The Loop 7 service is part of the alliance’s Day 3 product, launched earlier this year, and is served by 10 Evergreen ships of 13,000-14,000 TEUs.
The transit time from Colombo and Shekou to Hamburg is scheduled at 21 and 29 days respectively, while transit time from Hamburg to Port Klang is 28 days. The entire round voyage lasts 70 days.
Under the Day 3 product, six out of seven Ocean Alliance Asia-North Europe services call at the Port of Hamburg.
Of the 21 liner services currently sailing between Hamburg and the Far East, 14 are container liner services, according to the port.
