Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) said it is building closer ties with its customers in China following the launch of its Chinese language website.
In a statement, it said the website is part of a broader outreach program in China and across Asia to ensure that customers have access to up-to-date information, particularly during the challenges of the last 18 months.
“We think it is important to have a direct channel to our customers in China, one of Canadian Pacific’s biggest markets, the website provides a platform for us to share news about our own services and latest developments,” said Corey Heinz, managing director, Asia for Canadian Pacific.
“We can really add value to this new channel which will enhance communications and support the Canadian Pacific team in China,” he added.
CP is growing with its customers, offering a suite of freight transportation services, logistics solutions and supply chain expertise.
CP said with its focus on the Asia region, CP has extended its footprint with marketing offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo and Singapore.
It added that through its Asia Pacific Gateway in Vancouver, the rail network provides direct links from Asia to major ports on the west and east coasts in North America.
It said Vancouver, Canada's largest and North America's most diversified port, moves US$550 million worth of cargo each day, ranging from automobiles and containerized finished goods to essential commodities.
CP noted that it has also direct links to 11 major ports, including Vancouver, Montreal and Saint John, N.B. (via the New Brunswick Southern Railway), providing North American customers with a competitive rail service with access to key markets in every corner of the globe in collaboration with ocean carriers.
