The Transported Asset Protection Association has granted the Freight Security Requirements certification to DHL Express’ North Operating Center in Beijing, the company’s 100th facility in the Asia-Pacific to receive the accreditation.
According to TAPA, the FCR certification specifies the minimum security standards and the methods to be used in maintaining those standards, and covers areas such as the way high-value goods are handled, warehoused and transported.
DHL Express now has the highest number of TAPA FSR-certified sites in the Asia-Pacific region.
“Obtaining TAPA certification for our facilities is critical to ensuring the safety and security of our facilities and shipments as this is an increasing concern of our customers,” said Ken Lee, CEO of the Asia-Pacific at DHL Express. “With Asia Pacific accounting for 25% of total international express traffic – the second-largest after Europe – it is critical that we have a robust system to safeguard the integrity of shipments that we handle. This achievement fortifies our position as the industry leader in Asia Pacific.”
DHL Express has more than 270 FCR-certified sites around the world.
