CMA CGM announced that effective mid-October, it will launch a dedicated new rail service to serve Turkey's industrial zone of Gaziantep.

The bi-weekly block-train shuttle will run between Iskenderun to Gaziantep. 

The shipping line said the benefit of a very short and reliable intermodal transit time of 1.5 days to Gaziantep Ramp.

This will also divide by 2.2 the CO2 emission and carbon footprint on the intermodal segment versus truck. CMA CGM noted that Gaziantep from Shanghai (China) in 39 days, Jebel Ali (United Arab Emirates) in 28 days, Hamburg (Germany) in 21 days and Genoa (Italy) in 10 days.
