K+N AWARDED LOGISTICS CONTRACT BY SANOFI

Global life sciences company Sanofi has awarded a contract to Kuehne + Nagel for the management of all warehouse activities in Geel, Belgium.

The agreement covers a newly expanded warehouse which contains an area dedicated to the storage of pharmaceutical raw materials for Sanofi and the management of GDP services.

“We are delighted to start into this cooperation with Sanofi, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies,” said Kevin Nash, managing director of Kuehne + Nagel BeLux. “This new contract highlights our commitment to the pharma and healthcare industry and is a validation of our decision to further extend the Geel warehouse.”

The expanded warehouse also offers three different temperature-controlled zones: 15°C to 25°C, 2°C to 8°C and -25°C to -15°C. Additionally, a special fire-protection storage zone allows Sanofi to safely store raw materials which are classified as flammable, and a pressurized sample booth has been installed for sample taking.

“The implementation of the new external warehouse at Kuehne + Nagel provides a sustainable and scalable warehousing solution,” said Chris Majoor, director of supply chain at Sanofi.

The Geel facility is part of the global KN PharmaChain network, a multimodal logistics solution for temperature-controlled door-to-door transportation with accurate delivery traceability and intensive, proactive risk management, according to Kuehne + Nagel.
