CARGOLUX LAUNCHES TRANS-PACIFIC FLIGHT TO MEXICO CITY

Cargolux has launched a trans-Pacific flight from Hong Kong to Mexico City.

 

According to the airline, the new service will be operated twice a week, leaving Hong Kong on Mondays and Saturdays and arriving in the Mexican capital on Tuesdays and Sundays. The Monday flight will also include a stopover in Guadalajara.

“We are delighted to have added another trans-Pacific connection out of Hong Kong,” said Kevin Shek, vice president of Asia and Pacific at Cargolux. “Mexico is a rapidly growing economy and serving it directly from East Asia will enable for faster and more efficient exchanges of goods.”

 

The inaugural flight carried approximately 120 tonnes of cargo on board destined for both Guadalajara and Mexico City. The route is expected to transport commodities such as garments, mobile phones and related accessories, as well as electronic appliances.

 

Cargolux already operates westbound trans-Pacific flights from Hong Kong to Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Rickenbacker.
