Hong Kong-based OOCL is withdrawing more Trans-Pacific sailings in May and June in response to the expected low demand in the market as the impact of the coronavirus pandemic continues to bite.

In its ​Trans-Pacific Trade – service update, OOCL — one of the world's largest integrated international container transportation and logistics companies — said it is voiding its Pacific China South sailings ( Fuqing > Nansha > Yantian > Xiamen > Los Angeles > Fuqing) on June 9 and June 16.

The shipper will also blank its East Coast China 2 service from Qingdao > Ningbo > Shanghai > Pusan > Colon > Savannah > Charleston > Boston > New York > Colon > Qingdao on June 2 and June 24.

Its Gulf Coast China 1 service will also be halted on May 22 with the port rotation of Hong Kong > Shekou > Ningbo > Shanghai > Pusan > Houston > Mobile > New Orleans > Tampa > Miami > Singapore > Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, OOCL will also cancel its India East Coast Express (IEX) from Karachi on May 7 and May 21.

This route starts in Karachi > Nhava Sheva > Mundra > Damietta > New York > Norfolk > Savannah > Charleston > Jeddah > then back to Karachi.
