Qatar Airways has begun flying to Durban via Johannesburg.
“Qatar is one of South Africa’s largest trading partners in the Middle East and we are proud to strengthen this business relationship with the launch of our new route connecting Durban directly to Doha,” said Akbar Al Baker, chief executive of the Qatar Airways Group. “With its excellent aviation infrastructure and the development of the Dube TradePort, we expect the number of business and employment opportunities in Durban to increase.”
The flight will be operated by a Boeing 787-8 four times per week.
Qatar Airways already operates freighter flights to Johannesburg, as well as double-daily passenger flights to Johannesburg and daily flights to Cape Town.
