dnata has obtained the International Air Transport Association’s Safety Audit of Ground Operations certification at Sydney Airport.
ISAGO assesses the operational management and control systems of ground-handling companies. According to IATA, the certification aims to improve safety and reduce airline costs by minimizing ground accidents and injuries.
dnata’s operations at Sydney Airport were audited for three days after months of planning and preparation.
“The positive results could only have been achieved with the teamwork of all the operational and support divisions,” said Daniela Marsilli, CEO of dnata Australia. “It shows our commitment to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our people and reaffirms dnata as the ground handler of choice.”
Apart from Sydney, dnata’s other ISAGO-approved stations are Dubai, Geneva, Manila, Melbourne, Singapore and Zurich.
Ross Marino, senior vice president of international airport operations, said that safety has always been a core value in dnata’s culture.
“There is nothing more important to us than ensuring the safety and security of our staff,” said Marino. “Investing the time and effort in ensuring compliance with ISAGO standards reflects our commitment to continuous improvement in safety standards. It also demonstrates our goal to operate within globally recognized industry best practices and we aim to have all our stations progressively registered with ISAGO.”
