MSC RESUMES IRAN SERVICE

Mediterranean Shipping Company has resumed operations to Iran with the new Asia-Middle East New Falcon service.

 

Self Photos / Files - Shahid RajaeeThe first call was made by the 9,400 TEU MSC Domitille at the port of Shahid Rajaee in southern Iran on December 31, 2015.

 

According to MSC, the vessel offloaded 300 containers of foodstuffs and agricultural commodities at the port.

 

The port rotation for the New Falcon service is: Xingang – Busan – Ningbo – Shanghai – Fuzhou – Chiwan – Tanjung Pelepas – Singapore – Colombo – Jebel Ali – Shahid Rajaee (Bandar Abbas) – Ad Dammam – Jubail – Jebel Ali – Mundra – Nhava Sheva – Singapore – Nansha – Xingang.

 

MSC suspended services to Iran in 2012, after trade sanctions were imposed on the country. Operations were partially restored in April 2014 with the engagement of a third-party feeder service which enabled the transhipment of cargo in Jebel Ali.
