YANG MING LEASES 6,000 REEFERS EQUIPPED WITH TRANSICOLD TO MEET DEMAND

Taiwan-based global carrier Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp (Yang Ming) announced that it has leased 6,000 units of 40-ft high-cube PrimeLINE® reefers, of which 500 are equipped with Lynx™ Fleet devices, as part of a renewal program for its refrigerated container fleet.

Yang Ming said this is the first order in 25 years from Carrier Transicold, increasing Yang Ming's reefer capacity to meet current market needs.

Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier Global Corporation, a global provider of healthy, safe, sustainable and intelligent building and cold chain solutions.

"Carrier Transicold and Yang Ming Line have a long-established relationship that spans over 30 years, since our first order of reefers and we are excited to reignite this relationship with the current business," said Leow Eng Meng, sales director, Asia, Global Container Refrigeration, Carrier Transicold.

Yang Ming noted that Carrier Transicold has a comprehensive sales and service network, which includes over 400 container refrigeration support, service and repair centres across all major and developing ports.

The PrimeLINE unit features an energy-conserving digital scroll compressor; a fast temperature pull-down with an economized vapour injection system, to start compressor cycling sooner, minimizing power consumption; and it has a tight temperature control within +/- 0.25 degrees Celsius.

The unit also has high airflow attributed to its aerospace-inspired fan design.
