TURKISH AIRLINES REPORTS DOUBLE-DIGIT CARGO INCREASE IN DECEMBER

Turkish Airlines experienced a double-digit increase in cargo volumes in December 2023 compared to the same period in the prior year.

 

The airline carried 159.7 thousand tons of cargo/mail during the December period, up 15.8% from 137.9 thousand tons during the same period in 2022.

 

For the whole of 2023, however, total volumes were slightly lower.

 

Turkish Airlines said cargo/mail carried during this period decreased by 1.2% to 1.66 million tons from 1.68 million tons in the same period of 2022.

 

In December 2023, the airline carried 6.1 million passengers, up 10.1% from the previous year.

 

For the full year, the total number of passengers increased by 16.1% to 83.4 million compared to the same period of 2022.

 

By the end of December 2023, Turkish Airlines said the number of aircraft in the fleet was 440.
