CATHAY EXPANDS CARGO CAPACITY IN AUSTRALIA WITH ADDITIONAL FLIGHTS TO PERTH

Perth Airport said Cathay Pacific is adding five more services between Hong Kong and Perth starting October 28 this year.

These additional flights will boost not just passenger connectivity but also Cathay's belly-hold space in Australia.

"This expansion of Cathay Pacific's services is a clear indication of the strengthening ties between Hong Kong and Western Australia. It reflects the increasing demand for travel between our regions and the growing appeal of Western Australia as a premier tourist destination," said John Carey, acting tourism minister of Australia.

He added that securing additional non-stop aviation services is "absolutely vital" to driving more travellers to our state, injecting visitor spending into our economy, and creating jobs in the tourism and hospitality industries. We're really excited to see an uplift in Cathay Pacific's weekly offerings, with the airline now operating more services to Perth than they did pre-pandemic."
