FINNAIR CARGO PARTNERS WITH HUB LOGISTICS AT HELSINKI
September 1, 2016

Finnair Cargo has selected HUB logistics to be its terminal operator from December 2016.

“Cargo is an integral part of Finnair’s growth strategy and we intend to make the most of the warehouse automation and process optimization capabilities of our new terminal,” said Janne Tarvainen, managing director of Finnair Cargo. “This important step is now a great opportunity for us to significantly increase the volumes of cargo at our Helsinki hub. We look forward to developing the new cargo handling model together with HUB logistics.”

The airline’s new €80 million (US$89million), 37,000m2 COOL Nordic Cargo hub is scheduled to open in May 2017. Until then, Finnair Cargo will work closely with HUB logistics to ensure a smooth transition and to maximize usage at launch.

HUB logistics will replace Suomen Transval Oy, and all Transval employees working in the Finnair Cargo terminal will transfer over to the new operator.

HUB logistics employs more than 500 people in 21 offices in Finland, Estonia, Russia and Poland, according to Finnair.
