Jettainer has signed a cooperation agreement with Lufthansa Industry Solutions to develop an intelligent digital container.

According to Jettainer, the aim is to create a trackable ULD which is able to measure temperature changes, shocks and other external factors independently, as well as provide information about its overall state.

“The intelligent container will ensure greater transparency within the process chain in future,” said Carsten Hernig, managing director of Jettainer GmbH [second from left in photo]. “We’re deliberately breaking new ground here in order to make our services for customers even more efficient in future.”

The new generation of containers will accelerate maintenance and control procedures, and will also encourage greater care because the enhanced transparency will make it easier to determine who was responsible for any damage, according to Jettainer.
