Orient Overseas Container Line carried 6,080,682 TEUs in 2016, a 9.1% year-on-year increase, according to an unaudited operational update released by Orient Overseas (International) Limited.

The trans-Pacific trade lane registered the highest growth for the shipping line, having increased 18.2% in volume compared to 2015.

Available capacity increased by 5.9% and the overall load factor was 2.5% higher than in 2015, but the average revenue per TEU dropped by 17.4% year-on-year.

The total revenue for all services decreased by 9.9% compared to 2015, according to the statistics.
