DEUTSCHE POST DHL GROUP TO ELIMINATE LOGISTICS EMISSIONS BY 2050
March 9, 2017

Deutsche Post DHL Group has committed to reducing its logistics-related emissions to net zero by 2050.

As part of the company’s GoGreen environmental-protection programme, four interim milestones are to be achieved by 2025: increasing the carbon efficiency of all activities by 50% compared to 2007; operating 70% of DHL’s own first- and last-mile services with clean pick-up and delivery solutions; incorporating green solutions in more than 50% of sales; and training and certifying 80% of employees as GoGreen specialists.

“The decisions we make today will determine how our children live 30 years down the line,” said Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL Group.

The GoGreen programme focuses on reducing consumption without changing the energy source and using green energy sources and fuels.

The previous environmental target to improve carbon efficiency by 30% compared to 2007 was achieved in 2016, four years ahead of schedule, according to Deutsche Post DHL Group.
