CMA CGM OTELLO BECOMES LARGEST CONTAINER SHIP AT JAKARTA
April 27, 2017

CMA CGM Otello has become the largest container vessel to visit Indonesia, calling at Jakarta International Container Terminal before her maiden voyage to the US.

“Indonesia is strategic to the developments of the CMA CGM Group in Southeast Asia,” said Jean-Yves Duval, senior vice president of CMA CGM Asia. “We are fully behind Indonesia’s aspiration for a mega maritime network across the island nation and seek to exploit opportunities to make a meaningful contribution. Moving forward, the group looks to write new chapters with IPC and other key stakeholders for the Indonesian maritime industry.”

The 8,238 TEU vessel is being deployed on CMA CGM’s Java Sea Express service and APL’s Pendulum Loop 1 service. It is one of 17 vessels that will connect Indonesia with the US every week, with a transit time of 23 days from Jakarta to Los Angeles.
