“The Pearl River Delta, with Guangdong province and neighbouring Hong Kong, is one of the highest performing economic regions in China, and is an immensely important logistics hub for Europe and America,” said Michael Zankel, head of Gebrüder Weiss Hong Kong and Guangdong Province. “Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Guangzhou are currently ranked in third, fifth and seventh place on the list of the world’s largest container ports. Hong Kong International Airport is and continues to be the gold standard in terms of air freight. For us, as a full-service logistics company that operates all over the world, the Pearl River Delta is a crucial place to be.”

Through the four new locations, Gebrüder Weiss will offer a portfolio of logistics services including air and sea freight, storage, local distribution and e-commerce solutions with webshop systems. The company will also establish and develop industry expertise in areas such as the automotive and high-tech sectors.

Gebrüder Weiss has been in China since 1992 and is now present in 14 locations in the country’s transport hubs. The company also has a branch in Singapore.

“The Asian locations have made a major contribution to the global development of our company,” said Zankel. “With these new offices, we aim to continue with this success and to offer our customers even better links and logistics solutions all over the world.”
