Delta Air Lines will begin operating non-stop flights between the United States and Mumbai from 2019.

“It is exciting to be able to announce Delta’s return to India from the US as part of our vision to expand Delta’s reach internationally,” said Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines.

The Atlanta-based airline has yet to clarify from which of its hubs the flights will be operated and which aircraft will be deployed.

Full schedule details will be announced later this year, according to Delta.

United Airlines is currently the only US carrier with operations in India, flying daily Boeing 777-200ERs from Newark to Delhi and Mumbai.
