APL has launched its Japan Russia Express service, a new weekly connection between Japan and Russia.
According to APL, the new service is jointly operated with Russian intermodal operator FESCO Transportation Group.
The JRX service will have a port rotation of: Vostochny – Vladivostok – Yokohama – Shimizu – Nagoya – Kobe – Busan – Vostochny. The first sailing will depart Yokohama on August 24, 2018.
Transit time from Yokohama will be seven days to Vostonchny and nine days to Vladivostock. Shipments from Kobe to the two Russian ports will arrive in four and six days respectively.
From Vostonchny and Vladivostock, cargo onboard the JRX service can be moved via the Trans-Siberian Railway to Central Russia and into the European Union. Shippers from Japan and Russia will also be able to connect to global services in Busan, according to APL.
