ZIM has upgraded its service offering between Asia and the East Coast of the US, following its new strategic partnership agreement with the 2M Alliance.
According to ZIM, the new service network will commence in September 2018.
“The new alignment will enable ZIM customers to enjoy the best of both worlds: ZIM’s highly reputed personalized service, along with the best-in-market infrastructure and product,” said Nissim Yochai, EVP of the trans-Pacific trade at ZIM.
The upgraded network consists of five services operated by ZIM and 2M.
The ZIM Seven Stars service (Z7S) will feature new direct calls in Miami, Charleston and Singapore. The first service will depart Chiwan on September 12, 2018.
The ZIM Container Service Pacific (ZCP) will feature new calls in Xingang, Wilmington, Jacksonville and Pusan westbound, and connectivity to Halifax, the Caribbean and the US Gulf via Kingston. The first service will depart Xingang on September 14, 2018.
The ZIM Sunny Atlantic Express service (ZSA) will feature direct calls in Xiamen and Miami. The first service will depart Xiamen on September 14, 2018.
The ZIM Big Apple service (ZBA) will feature a call in Baltimore. The first service will depart Yantian on September 15, 2018.
The ZIM New Frontier service (ZNF) will feature direct calls in Laem Chabang and Singapore. The first service will depart Laem Chabang on September 16, 2018.
ZIM announced a strategic operational cooperation with 2M Alliance members Maersk and MSC on the Asia-US East Coast trade in July 2018.
