Frank De Jong has been appointed as chief operations officer, assuming responsibility for flight, ground and technical operations. He succeeds Sten Rosby and will report to David Kerr, chief executive officer.

De Jong was most recently director of product development at CargoLogicManagement, a British management consulting company serving the international cargo airlines of Volga-Dnepr Group and its strategic partners. He previously held a number of executive roles at Air France KLM Martinair Cargo.

Freddie Overton has been appointed as regional director for Europe and the Americas, responsible for driving the expansion of CLA’s trans-Atlantic operations as well as supporting the joint commercial platform with CLA’s partners. He joins from IAG Cargo.

Sean Pettit has been appointed as head of financial control. He is an experienced aviation industry finance professional.

Sarah Owen has been promoted to head of the operations control centre, based at CargoLogicAir’s new headquarters in Stockley Park near London Heathrow Airport.

The appointments will support CLA as it prepares for the next stage of its fleet expansion. Subject to regulatory approvals, the airline will take delivery of a Boeing 747-400 freighter in October 2018.

“These key appointments and our next aircraft delivery will keep us on track with our five-year plan and allow us to expand our capabilities in support of the UK’s key exporting and importing industries,” said Kerr. “They will also enhance our ability to play a lead role alongside our network of international cargo airline partners in serving the requirements of key global customers and strategic industry partners.”

CargoLogicAir’s current fleet consists of two 747-400Fs and one 747-8F.
