QR CARGO TO LAUNCH DJIBOUTI

Qatar Airways Cargo will be starting freighter flights to Djibouti on August 1, 2015.

 

Self Photos / Files - QR33FThe service will be offered once a week and will be flown with an Airbus A330 Freighter, which has a maximum payload of 65-60 tonnes.

 

“Djibouti is an important market for Qatar Airways Cargo and for the Middle East, which benefits as a consolidation point for the African market due to its geographical location,” said Ulrich Ogiermann, chief officer of cargo at Qatar Airways. “This new route will further open up the African market to our customers who are increasingly demanding capacity to Africa, keen to maximize upon the numerous possibilities the country holds. Qatar Airways Cargo’s dedicated services, such as QR Pharma and QR Fresh, can unlock this potential for businesses and consumers, transporting pharmaceuticals to flowers, and provide opportunities for greater choice and competition within the market.”

 

Djibouti will be Qatar Airways Cargo’s seventh freighter destination. It already flies to Accra, Entebbe, Johannesburg, Khartoum, Lagos and Nairobi.

 

The Qatar Airways Cargo fleet consists of six A330-200Fs and eight Boeing 777Fs.
