FEDEX EXPRESS LAUNCHES QR PAY
November 8, 2018

FedEx Express has launched QR Pay in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand, allowing customers to make payments with their mobile devices and facilitating an efficient shipping process.

According to FedEx, QR Pay will supplement existing online payment methods such as FedEx Billing Online. QR Pay is a secure mobile payment option which uses a QR code embedded with a unique payment link, and simplifies the payment process by eliminating the need to have shopping carts, booking engines or checkouts.

“FedEx is constantly looking for ways to innovate, pioneer new solutions and offerings to address customers’ evolving needs in the region,” said Karen Reddington, president of Asia Pacific at FedEx Express. “The introduction of QR Pay is an example of how FedEx is using technology to provide greater flexibility and convenience for our customers, and ultimately a better experience when it comes to managing their logistics needs.”

With QR Pay, customers can make payments with credit cards as well as e-wallets such as AliPay and WeChat Pay. Customers simply scan the QR code provided by FedEx couriers or printed on their invoices with their smartphones, and will then be automatically directed to the payment page.

QR Pay will soon be rolled out in other Asia-Pacific markets.

More than half of connected consumers in Asia Pacific use their mobile devices to pay for goods or services at point of sale, according to FedEx.
