EUROCONSOL ENHANCES CHINA-GERMANY LCL RAIL SERVICE
December 12, 2018

Polish NVOCC and freight consolidator Euroconsol has enhanced its less-than-container-load rail service from Wuhan to Hamburg.

According to Euroconsol, it is now deconsolidating full-container-load shipments at the hub in Malaszewice, Poland, and then trucking freight to Hamburg. This shortens the transit time to 16 days.

“Our global freight forwarder customers welcome the enhancements we’ve made to our China-Germany Silk Road service,” said Maciej Mazurkiewicz, chairman and CEO of Euroconsol. “Their BCO shipper customers now have a faster and more effective supply chain solution that quickly moves their imports to market or production facilities in Germany. We’re pleased to offer a better transportation solution that combines rail and trucking to expedite China imports.”

The service is offered in collaboration with iCargo Alliance and Eurasia International Group, while the intercontinental rail network between Asia and Europe is managed by Chengdu International Railway Service Co. Ltd.

Euroconsol introduced a Silk Road LCL/FCL import rail service from Chengdu to Pruszkow in August 2017.

The company plans to open a large handling and distribution facility in Lodz, Poland, in 2019.
