FEDEX LAUNCHES COLD-CHAIN PRODUCT IN CHINA
August 11, 2015

FedEx Express has introduced a one-stop cold chain product to outbound International Priority Service and domestic Priority Delivery Service in the mainland Chinese market.

Shipments will now be able to take advantage of two packaging solutions: Gel-Pack Temperature-Controlled Package and FedEx Cold Shipping Package.

“FedEx has made a conscious effort to innovate and develop logistics solutions that address the specific needs of different industries, including cold chain solutions for our healthcare customers,” said Karen Reddington, president of FedEx Express in the Asia Pacific. “The roll-out of our one-stop cold chain solutions in China marks a significant milestone in our drive to make these available wherever our customers need them. As well as the quick, convenient and reliable service they expect from FedEx, they now have the peace of mind of knowing that they can entrust their temperature-sensitive shipments to us as well.”

The gel-pack option, which is available in sizes ranging from 10 litres to 3,410 litres, offers three temperature ranges at which it can maintain the shipment: -20-0°C, 2-8°C and 15-25°C for 70-120 hours.

The cold shipping package option offers a temperature range of 2-8°C for a maximum of 96 hours. No pre-conditioning steps are required, according to FedEx.

Customers will be able to proactively monitor the temperature data of shipments and be notified of their status.
