GEODIS APPOINTS NEW INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS HEADS
September 24, 2015

GEODIS’ international transport division GEODIS Freight Forwarding has appointed two new directors of industrial projects: Michael Doerpinghaus in Southeast Asia Pacific and Igor Muñiz in Europe.

“There is no substitute for experience in the handling of the projects we logistically manage from door to door,” said Philippe Somers, senior vice president of the industrial projects business at GEODIS. “Specialists are required to move refineries, power plants, mining, oil and gas equipment, as well as renewable and nuclear power production units and

transport infrastructure. In Igor and Michael we have two of the most proficient professionals in this highly specialized

role.”

Doerpinghaus was previously involved in energy and project logistics at Panalpina, according to GEODIS. He will be based in Singapore.

Muñiz is Doerpinghaus’ predecessor and will move to the newly created European position. He previously worked in transport and logistics at Iberia, and joined GEODIS in 2008 to set up the company’s industrial projects business in Spain, according to a statement.
